The word divergent means tending to be different or to develop in different directions. Three musicians who value individuality and original thought have come together to create a broad panoply of music in the pursuit of artistic expression. Unbound by genre, the goal is to write and record great songs that stand out on their own, whether by making a statement, creating a groove, offering a singable melody or hook or just inspiring fist pumping rocking out! In other words, just to create great music, no matter the style and without commercial expectation. Just because, at this point in our lives, we can. So why not? As they say, we all only live once.

It took us four months to think about and decide on a name for such an endeavor. After painstakingly creating a long list of possible candidates, we finally settled on the name Divergent. We think it best describes what we are setting out to do.

And so we are Divergent - a dynamic musical collaboration that defies traditional boundaries by seamlessly blending multiple genres and styles into our music. With a sound that ranges from hard-hitting rock riffs to intricate melodies, we infuse elements of rock, pop, alternative and progressive music. The band’s versatility is reflected in our recordings, which can shift from high-energy rock to soulful ballads. Our genre bending style and willingness to experiment offers a fresh and compelling musical force, that in the whole, seeks to appeal to a broad spectrum of listeners who crave innovation and depth in their music and, sometimes, just a little mindless fun.
